#FalseChristmasCactus this lady is getting too big for the pot she’s in I think. It’s an 8 inch glazed clay pot. If I transplant her, what is recommended for this type of plant? Should it be a wide shallow pot or a deeper pot? I have a second plant that’s a little bit smaller than this one that will probably need to be transplanted as well. I should say repotted if you can help, I’d appreciate it.
This is a happy Thanksgiving cactus 🌵 you tell the difference in the pointy leafs kinda resemblinga crab claw. A Christmas cactus has more of a teardrop shaped leaf and a Easter cactus is more oval shaped leaves with rounded edges.
Absolutely you can transplant her💚look at all those babies!! She's definitely happy in that exact spot of your home. So i would transplant her and I'd water her with miracle grow to help the shock of the transplant then hold off on watering her for a couple days and continue with regular waterings. If she's looking a little gloomy or wilted in anyway try some more miracle grow (I've had better luck with the og regular blue powdered kind instead of liquid and even the miracle grow for cactus in the orange pump like you have.. i personally haven't experienced a positive durastic noticable change from using that kind of miracle grow like i have with the original powdered kind of miracle grow..) now this is just my opinion. I am obsessed with succulents and cactuses of every and any kind so i have alot of experience and knowledge but im not going to claim that im a expert or botanist of any kind. I hope this advice does wonders for your beautiful girl.
@TimelyCoyotillo @SlinkyHoya97 I don’t know if I would repot this one. She looks great! These also don't need a big pot. Just always remember that you always want 1/3 of the plant hanging over the side of the pot. If the pot is too big her energy will go into more root growth to fill the pot instead of flowers.
@DreamMachine thank you thank you, I never knew that about the 1/3 plant growth. I certainly don’t wanna do anything to stop the beautiful flowers.
@TimelyCoyotillo yep 👍 I get the best blooms when the pot is getting a bit cramped.
