How to remove flies from satin pothos?

#satinpothos how to get rid of little flies that surround the plant? Why would they be near the plant? It’s an indoor plant. Here it is in all its glory- no bugs but when I went to water today- little flies… maybe about 3 of them…
Sounds like fungus gnats. Especially if you see them when you water. I found the best help for fungus gnats was my carnivorous plant, my butterwort. But sticky traps also help catch the adults. You can add hydrogen peroxide to your water to kill any larvae in the soil. I also heard people use the mosquito dunks, put one dunk (or some small pellets) in your water and let it soak for at least 30 min. Then remove the mosquito dunk and water the plant with the mosquito dunk water. Good luck! They can be annoying!
@MagicallyDamsii seems as if this is a bad year for these gnats too. I’ve had a few of them and have seen a lot of posts on here regarding others saying they have them and they seen particularly defiant this year. I made my own soapy water to spray them with and then also bought some Captain Jacks Neem Oil spray to spray all my plants and their top layer of soil. I have to say mine have seemed to be taken care of…for now. But @PlantznBirdz I am interested in the whole β€œadd peroxide to your water to kill larvae in the soil” tip! I need to grab some more and I’m gonna try that. What ratio do you suggest. I’ve seen 1 part 3% peroxide to 6 parts water to give oxygen to roots, but wasn’t sure if that would do the trick for the larvae.
@MorePlants13 I have heard a more concentrated amount for fungus gnats. 1 part peroxide to 3 parts water. So about double the amount you listed. I hope this helps!
@PlantznBirdz yes now that you mention it I’ve heard that ratio too but couldn’t remember what it was for. Thanks!!!!!
@MorePlants13 the soapy water seems to have done the trick this time. @SuperblyLilac @PlantznBirdz thank you for your suggestions- I will keep them in mind for the future should any other bug issues arise.
@MagicallyDamsii glad to hear. You may need to do it a couple times, but it’s worth it to get rid of them.
Pretty in Green sells Bti powder for fungus gnats and it works well along with the sticky traps. It’s helping a lot. The mosquito dunks don’t work very well. The peroxide 1 to 4 parts water seems to do more damage to the plant than the gnats. For me anyway.
