Reviving alocasia reginae silver in semi-hydro

Experimented on semi-hydro recently! I revived some bugs-infested plants and I'm so thankful. #semihydroponics #alocasiaaddicts #alocasiareginae #alocasiajacklyn
3ft to light, direct
2” pot without drainage
Last watered 3 years ago
I've been thinking about making the switch lately, this is so cool! Keep us posted on the progress, but it seems pretty obvious!
@PlantMompy will do! I chose pumice over leca as they are look aesthetically more pleasing so something to consider!
Love the look of those! It looks so clean in those glass containers.
@jcPlantProper yes the Jacklyn is glorious, it's a gift from a friend. I'm very lucky to own one!
I would love to do this with some of my babies but I would be afraid of overwatering (without drainage) because I butt-chugg all of my plants.
@TJphilobsessed I love the clean look too! Heart stained glass will help hide the inevitable algae that will form over time! Something to take note!
@jcPlantProper I think it is introduced to the market relatively recently here in Singapore so it is still pretty pricey here. We are definitely much more fortunate in terms of weather here since we are near the equator and Singapore is humid! Must be such a pleasure to see these greens everyday! Your Jacklyns look very nice!
@jcPlantProper This is from plunt.co a Singapore plant curator. I keep this indoors about 1.5 m away from a southwest facing window. I will imagine in a US climate, you will need to keep it at >70% humidity for it to thrive?
@DormantDerrick the pumice definitely looks better! I have a plant in leca and was just telling @PlantMompy how unphotogenic it looks. Yours are a great example, awesome work reviving them!
Those are lovely! Following for updates!
These are beautiful! 🤩
I’ve got a couple of plants in LECA now and I LOVE it!
