Can anyone pls help me revive my cat fern? I got it less than a month ago and it’s drooping like this since last week. I made a mistake by removing some of the outer layer ay the bottom of some stems- thinking it’s dead matter. But it was probably keepjng the plant upright. Even then, the leaves have been drooping so kuch and some event went dry. I didn’t overwater cos when I out fingers in the soil, it’s moist about 4 inches in (10 inch pot). I do see the roots are showing out of the soil though (although this is how it arrrived). Could someone pls tell me what all I’m doing wrong?
3ft to light, indirect

Hi Ayush welcome to Greg. It looks like it is in the nursery pot it came in? If so- you should repot it into a better pot, one with drainage hole/s. The soil most plants are sold in isn’t a good choice as it has no nutrients and water drains as soon as you@put it in so it gets little water. I have my fern in a mixture of succulent soil and peat moss and coco coir and I also add some perlite. The roots of the fern need this type of soil so the roots get strong to hold the fern up. A good starting point is a mix of: 40% soil, 20% peat moss, 20% perlite, and 10% coco coir chips. I hope this helps and if you have more questions just ask ☺️
Thank you for the wishes and for the helpful response, Catherine!
I hadn’t changed the pot since I believed it’s grown so well in this pot..unless the nursery transfer it out of its growing pot into this nursery pot before shipping?
Also sharing some more pics. Does it also have something to do with the roots not being 100% under soil? When I repot, that will help me determine how much soil to add..
