I keep this plant outdoors during the summer (zone 6) on a east facing side of my house and it thrives. It becomes so purple and beautiful. In the winter I bring it in (when temps get consistently colder) and keep it in my “plant room” near a south facing window near a grow lamp (16 hours) with all my other indoors plants. It adjusts well during the transition from outdoor to indoor and the opposite.

I love this Tradescantia. I purchased this plant as a cutting about 4 months a go. It has attractive purple and green striped leaves. The plant has grown really quickly, it is cascading. Very attractive, easy to care for. I’ve got it positioned next to a south facing window. I water this every four days. Taking cuttings are so easy, they take very quickly and need repotting in weeks.

This plant literally grows so fast, I have to cut it back all of the time!! I do have to be very consistent with watering though, or else the leaves brown easily.

We got this plant as cuttings from a friend. Prior to now this plant has died and revived more times then she could count. Even survived an outdoor wind storm. Very easy to correct mistakes

To avoid it becoming leggy. I’d always prune while and just propagate in dirt or water then add back to the pot for a fuller look.

if i could only use one word to describe this plant: explosive. i started with maybe 6-7 cuttings at the beginning of the summer. it spent a few months outside in heat, humidity, and direct sunlight and has grown an almost ridiculous amount. trim it and stuck cuttings in water and in a week they root….you have an infinite source of plants. not for the underwaterer though! leaves and stems go crispy quickly.

I propped my zebrina in water and rooted so fast! After I transferred to soil I didn’t keep a close eye on her and after looking at photos she nearly doubled in size after only a month. I might cut her back and prop again soon because she’s just taking off. Super easy to take care of if you have the right conditions and a really beautiful looking plant.
