Ficus elastica is a sturdy, durable houseplant. This one has never showed any signs of stress. Growth slows down during winter months but it’s doubled in size during each summer I’ve had it (hoping for more of the same this year 🤞).

Mine seems to love direct sunlight from a south-facing windowsill ☀️

Definitely a great ficus plant great for beginners! And if you like variegation this plant is super stable and impossible to burn. She does so great in my east window!!

My partner didn’t think I could be crazy enough to bring a plant home on a train after a vacation, he was wrong :) I love this ficus. The leaves are so beautifully coloured, it tolerates a bit of neglect now and then, but when you care for it you’ll be rewarded with decently rapid growth.
