I was seriously worried about this plant at first, but after getting it in a proper pot and understanding it’s watering schedule, it is fine!

Buy a monstera that already has fenestrations! It can take years for them to put out fenestrations and if you’re impatient like me, it’s easier to just buy a mature one. They’re also pretty drought resistant; mine is trained to only need water about once every two weeks.

It’s a beautiful plant but you must be careful as with all plants not to over or under- water it for the leaves will turn brown or get yellow.

Once I put my monstera in direct sunlight it started growing so many big new leaves and aerial roots. I can’t wait until they’re long enough to put in water for more roots. She’s quickly outgrowing her pot!

This is my second monstera. My first one I had to leave behind in Ontario when moving provinces and had it for 2 years. It grew so much and was thriving and I was so sad to have to leave it behind. I love watching the new leaves come in and fenestrations appear! Makes the home look so lush and beautiful as well
