It really needs a good spot with light because it will move its leaves there. Also it needs drainage because it will brown easily and prepare for little (harmless) bugs.

monstera’s are sooo easy to own. they grow super fast and are gorgeous. my leaves are starting get slits & holes. definitely a must-have plant

My mistake was getting a large monstera—it really likes humidity and as such does best being put in a shower for 15 mins or so or out in the yard under a hose when watering. That’s all well and good for small pots, but it’s a real bitch hauling this beast around my house whenever he needs water! Otherwise lovely to look at and quite happy to grow lots of new leaves. Browns very easily if it gets too dry though, or if ambient humidity is too low.

i bought my monstera broken and battered from the walmart plant section. in 2 months she has tripled in size and every time i turn around she’s got a new leaf. low maintenance, indirect sunlight, and she’s thriving.
