I love my prayer plant! It does brown on the edges because of humidity but it still grows like wild fire. If humidity is a problem for you and you like perfect plants this isn’t a plant for you. If you don’t mind a happy plant with a few brown edges then this is your plant!

I’ve propagated three different babies from this plant because the branches were getting too heavy for her to hold herself up, I didn’t think she’d come back from such a severe chopping but she’s back at it again with the new leaves.

This plant is constantly growing new beautiful leaves, grows fast, and survives. It needs more water than I thought and could have been repotted sooner than I did it. The new leaves have the rich reddish/purplish spots, and I was excited for these new flowers. I was also able to propagate several babies successfully to give to friends which is a bonus.

I would say my maranta is the first intermediate/advanced plant I’ve been able to keep happy.
I got it in a 4” pot a year ago and it has been pushing out leaves and flowers non-stop since. Is now in a 6” pot.
For mine, water in a tray underneath is key. Or her leaves brown at the tips easily. Now that she is much bigger and her leaves hang far beyond the tray I have for her, I’m a bit nervous they’ll get crispy so keeping an eye out for that.
Very easy to propagate, too. I have taken a few cuttings, rooted them in water and added them to the pot to make her bushier.
A really fascinating and unique plant once you attune to her needs.

Much prettier version compared to its classic red-striped prayer plant relative (in my opinion) and from what I hear they are much less fussy. There is CONSTANT new growth. Only downside was through winter the new growth was small and then got bigger again.
