This plant loves the sun and grows fast. I’ve only had about 6 weeks and even though it was in a low light area it bloomed. I water once a week. I have moved closer to the window and I’m getting more colors out of the plant. It’s stopped losing leaves like it had when I first got it. Figured out the watering and moved to a sunnier spot. I turn a quarter turn daily to allow it to have more sunlight and more color on the leaves.

Definitely a more dramatic plant. Needs lots of light and water. And if you miss watering for a day, all the leaves droop and look like they’re gonna fall off.

A little tricky of a plant here in CO; it needs a lot of moisture. And it almost died due to infrequent watering while I was learning about its nature. But I have notice new leaves starting to unfurl! 🙌🏼 Excited to see their pigmentation!

Pretty dramatic. Will definitely let you know if it’s needing water. Leaves will all droop looking very sad. A little water and some sunshine and this plant is healthy and happy in less than an hour!

I love this plant! It tells you when it needs water, the leaves start to get droopy. I keep it on an east-facing windowsill. It had three medium sized leaves when I got it, then doubled in size last summer and has continued growing through winter. I super recommend croton petra 🙂

He’s already starting to develop new leaves, even when we’ve only had him about a month. His leaves are gorgeous, but the color has started to fade in my lower light apartment. Getting a grow light, hopefully that will fix the issue.
Still trying to determine the watering schedule, in the winter about once every 7-9 days or so. Will need to water more often once spring and summer arrive.

It’s leaves are SO BEAUTIFUL!!! They look like fireflies ✨ I got them a few weeks ago and have been putting them next to the east-facing window - it’s thriving and growing new leaves. The new leaves are straight-up green - I think they’ll show the yellow pops after some time. We’ll see!
