Please give me any tips and tricks to growing and keeping my trap alive!!!

I have been watering my venus traps from the bottom like I’ve been told but the ends keep turning brown. I tried moving it closer to the window bc I thought maybe it needs more light but they keep getting brown and drooping. Help plz

I just got this guy and wondering if it is looking healthy? It has eaten on fly and I have it in water.
