I finally beheaded my leggy blue quartz. The problem is there is a little bit of old stem on the giant pup & it just won't come off. Was wondering if after it's done callousing if I can plant it still or if I should cut it off so it won't rot? Will it rot

I’m pretty sure my boy is sick but I’m not sure what’s the best way to take care of him.

Is this sunburn or corking? The stem looks good and green but the top 2 leaves are yellowing/browning and turning hard not soft. (The lighting isn't good in pic, sorry.)I haven't seen any bugs and seems otherwise healthy, growing a pup in there.

About 2 weeks ago I potted a stem cutting from my leggy blue quartz after letting it callous. Instead of growing roots under the dirt, it's growing a rosette. What did I do wrong & can I fix it or leave it be? Will it eventually grow roots in there?
