Parts of aloe dying

A part of my aloe died. Does this mean the rest of it is not healthy? Is there anything I can do differently? Lots of the bottom parts near the soil are drying out and getting crispy. Do I need to water more? Or does it need more light? It used to be outdoor but now it’s under a grow light indoors. #AloeVera #ShortLeavedAloe #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewPlantMom #help

@CasualOnionweed Hi Kelly! I just killed my huge Aloe so I may not be the best person to answer this. But, it was about 15 years old and had stayed in the same place for the past 7 years. Then I moved it to my greenhouse and it didn’t appreciate that AT ALL! It lost all its color and became squishy! Too much light and heat. However, it did great when I watered it just a little bit about every 10 days to 2 weeks and it got morning filtered sun only! The rest of the time it was in the shade. When was the last time you repotted it? What kind of soil is it in? I used organic potting soil with coco chunks in it. I don’t know how much this will help, but it was beautiful before I moved itπŸ˜” I knew better! I’m so mad at me for that! Experience is the best teacher they say! πŸͺ΄πŸ˜
@Ponytailmom thanks for your questions, it helped me realize I haven’t updated the location of the plant in the Greg app, so maybe that’s why the watering schedule is off, because it still thinks that it’s outdoors.

I last repotted it when I first got it, about a year ago. I can’t remember which soil I used. Either regular soil or possibly succulent soil.

Thanks for sharing your experience with your aloe. I’m sorry to hear that yours didn’t survive after moving to the greenhouse. That’s a real bummer.
