Meh sometimes plants take themselves out. Was is lack of care or pure spite? Who knows lol
I’m not entirely sure if your lil guy needed to be by a humidifier, my Chinese money plant (also a pilea) doesn’t need humidity so that couldn’t contributed to coco’s death, but one thing I do know is that pileas LOVE their light.

I think it’s fast death was a combination of things: the extra water from the humidity, being watered normally, and also being in a north facing window where you won’t get as much light as a south facing window (if you’re in the N. Hemisphere).

He looks so healthy on the plant card that for him to look like that after only a week is certainly odd.
Soil looks awfully wet. Sometimes less is more 🤷‍♀️
Did you recently have a heat spell where you live? That looks like a plant that's been scorched by either direct sun, not enough water, or a combination of the two. I don't think insufficient light or excess humidity would do that to a plant so quickly.
Maybe too much, too soon. I've had a couple that needed gentler acclimating bc stores over or underwater (usually over IME) and the lightning in our homes , temp and humidity is different from their original homes.
