It's sharing a pot with my rosy maidenhaur fern, but should I separate them? I put them both in newly opened potting soil.

Were the leaves normal when you received it?
Usually plants need a few weeks or more to adjust to their new home so it could be part of the adjustment period. It could be damage from shipping, or it could be transplant shock as well. It sounds like you haven't had it long enough for a light or watering issue.
I will say that maidenhair ferns and umbrella trees do have different care needs so they will need to be separated at some point.
