Typically spots means mold due to over watering.
@SassyRedsword Yikes! I do wait for her to dry out before watering. πŸ€”
I'm going through the same thing with mine, and my leaves are curling up and down. So I got neem oil today and sprayed her, and a bunch of little bugs started flying around. They are dead now!
@plantfinatic So glad you did that! Yikes! I watched a video today on YouTube about 5 common problems with Pilea plants. Very interesting! She said that if Pilea has white spots that it’s completely normal and that it is due to mineral build up from tap water. She said to use filtered water. She also said that the curling can be due to lack of nitrogen and suggested to use a half diluted 20-20-20 fertilizer. If I can find the link again I’ll post it here and tag you.
Well, @SunnyPlants, don't worry! These bugs are totally common. People, pets, and flowers can carry them. But, treat your plant with insecticide. The ingredients are : Peppermint soap, peppermint oil, lemon juice, cinnamon, and lavender oil! If you don't have all of those, just use what you have!😁🏝
The spots look normal to me. The black spot looks like a damage scar. And not related to fungus gnats, which I’m guessing is what was flying around. They’re rarely harmful. Sticky traps help get the adults and there are various soil treatments to help get larvae. Letting the soil completely dry out (as you’re doing) also really helps keep them at bay. β˜€οΈ
Thanks @debbiedo !! I’m feeling much better about her today! Yeah, I think normalish too! 😊
Anytime you fing a hole in a leaf, you should probably suspect bugs. Sounds like you are taking all the right steps to help your pilea. @SunnyPlants good luck.
@Stall54Jo Thanks for the encouragement!
