A flower. Lithops produce a flower and then once that dies off they start to split. Watering during flowering is okay, don’t water once it starts to split. I also suggest a different soil mix because it wont end well using a highly organic soil mix. They want basically straight rocks with a little bit of soil as their substrate. It’s okay for a little bit using that kind of soil if it came with it but will probably turn them to mush
@Peachyhoyas THANK YOU for explaining why I’ve killed the couple of lithops I’ve tried! I will invest in some volcanic rock before I try again.
