I think my plant is sending an SOS
I just looked at my Chinese money plant and it's stem has blackening on it and it had this dead leaf on it. Please give me some advice. It's hanging by my patio door on the side that doesn't open with a sheer curtain to filter the light

If the stem is blackening it probably overwatered and rotting :( The best advice I can give you is chop off the the rotted parts and replant whatever isn’t rotted. (To know if it’s rotted check the roots and stem, anything black and squishy is rotted).
