How do I grow a succulent from the leaf?

I used a needle and elastic to thread multiple leaves onto, and I hung it on my porch. They all died, but one actually grew tiny roots recently. I put it on succulent soil and sprayed it with water. It’s an echevaria lipstick, and I’m not sure how to make sure it survives into puphood. Any tips? It’s in a 2 inch terracotta pot

You literally just need to lay it on soil and forget about it! You don't even need the soil at first, just lay leaves on a saucer and the roots/pups will start to grow. It might not work for ALL leaves, the way they're removed from the parent plant plays a role. If it's not cleanly removed right at the base, it won't grow roots. I wouldn't spray the actual leaf with water though, that could cause it to rot. Once you lay it on top of soil, just very lightly water the soil around the leaf and try not to get the actual leaf wet. It takes a very long time for a single leaf to grow into a plant, so patience is key!
@stephonicle thanks! Will post updates when it becomes a pup
