You can snip in between the nodes. I would suggest leaving at least 3 nodes for one cutting. Be sure to use clean sheers. When doing so, you will want to remember which side is what and cap the top of the mother stalk as well as the top of each of your cuttings almost immediately with melted wax.

Place your cuttings in a cup with about an about a 1/2-1” of water and change out a couple times a week and you should start seeing roots develop! I have procrastinated in planting mine in the dirt πŸ˜… my cups are full of roots. Hope that helps! Good luck!
@S.ham13 could you by any chance show me how to snip at a node? I don’t want any more stalks, just more offshoots from what I already have
@SamBaines For the top cut, want to peel back the leaves along the bottom to expose the stem prior to putting it in the water.
@SamBaines From my experience, there’s only been one off shoot that grows from each stick and it typically grows out of the first node below the cut. I suppose you could cut the existing off shoots at the points I marked or a littler higher up and dispose of the rest. It might encourage more than one offshoot. I wouldn’t have it in me to throw it away though πŸ˜… maybe propagate the cuttings you don’t want and give them to someone as a gift.
@S.ham13 Wow! Mine does NOT have roots like yours! I guess I may need to do a snip snip.. ooftah I am nervous!
You sound like me! Throwing away a living part of a plant causes me too much pain. Thanks for this info, my plant has grown way too tall and now I know what to do πŸ’•
@SamBaines Thanks for your question. I was wondering what to do with mine.
