Mine did the same thing so I added fertilizer specifically made for succulents.

I know this post is several days old, but I just wanted to addβ€”yes, it's *completely* normal for the lower (older) leaves to die off so the plant can focus its energy on new growth. You can let them shrivel and fall off on their own, or you can hold near the base of the leaf and gently twist till it comes loose (just try not to let dead leaves pile up inside the pot!)
