I just bought it and it looks so sad!

#ScindapsusMoonlight Iโ€™ve already taken off one left that went yellow. Just repotted it and fertilized this week. Itโ€™s just a baby! Help me, help her!
5ft to light, direct

Hi Jerri!

Was she sad when she arrived? Many plants need time to acclimate to their new home and if shipped can also show signs of stress that way.

It sounds like you know it's not a soiling/watering issue so I'd say give her lots of light and let her rest. She's been through a lot lately.
Doesnt look like a treubii Moonlight. I'm terrible with identifying exact varieties of Scindapsus, however, but i know that one is highly likely to have 'aurea' in the name.

I think i see your problem. It's getting direct skylight. Poor thing can't handle it, it's heating up too much. The water in it is evaporating too fast. Hence he collapsed. Move it to bright indirect light
Ronaldo the Scindapsus treubii โ€˜Moonlightโ€™ is likely just stressed from too much change at once. Hereโ€™s how to help your plant baby recover:

โธป

Whatโ€™s likely going on:
โ€ข Repotting + Fertilizing + New Environment = Shock
โ€ข These plants are sensitive and need time to adjust.

โธป

Do this to help her bounce back:

1. Move out of direct light:
Moonlight prefers bright, indirect light. โ€œ5 ft to direct lightโ€ might be too intenseโ€”especially after repotting. Place it near a bright window but shielded from harsh rays.

2. Stop fertilizing for now:
Since itโ€™s newly repotted, it doesnโ€™t need extra nutrients yet. Fertilizing now can burn roots, especially in a stressed plant.

3. Check soil moisture:
You watered 2 days ago, which is fineโ€”but make sure itโ€™s not too soggy. These plants hate sitting in wet soil. Let the top inch dry before watering again.

4. No more changes:
Avoid touching, rotating, or repotting again. Let it sit still and recover for 2โ€“3 weeks.

5. Humidity helps:
If your home is dry (especially in Texas), add a small humidifier nearby or place the pot on a pebble tray with water.

Patience is key:

New leaves might be slow to grow for a while, but if the roots settle in, Ronaldo will perk up. Youโ€™re doing the right thingโ€”just give her some peace and gentle light!
