Which succulents or cacti like shallow pots?
I’ve read that succulents tend to have shallow root systems, so most types of succulents would be happy in shallow pots! In terms of cacti, there are 4 main types of root systems, so checking which type your cacti have against the types that exist will help you know if the root system is deep or shallow.
@hoyahead thanks! 🤗
@EarthlySoybean No problem! Happy planting! 🌵💚

Be aware that there are succulents with very long roots. I’ve attached a photo.

“Aloinopsis rubrolineata is a branching succulent with thick, rough, tongue-like, dark olive-green leaves. It grows up to 5 inches (12.5 cm) tall, developing a massive root system. The swollen roots are up to 3 inches (7.5 cm) in diameter. Flowers are bright yellow with red mid-stripe and appear in winter.”

I highly recommend researching the plants before you buy them as some are more difficult to grow than others.

See my next response for my own plant. It’s in a 3” pot that’s 6” tall.
Here is my own mimicry plant.
@hoyahead Thanks for the visual on cactus root types. 🌵
@EarthlySoybean @vvvelo would have suggestions for you.
@DesertRainey no problem! I thought that was a cool comparison. I’m a super visual learner myself haha!
