Why is my string of hearts not growing?

I bought her as a clipping MONTHS ago. I started her in water where she very slowly developed a few roots, and I saw little to no growth elsewhere. Eventually I transferred her to soil where she then put out one new set of leaves and one flower bud but that shrivelled and dried up. I’d been quite on top of watering at the time so this confused me.

I was giving her fertiliser etc every other watering (about twice a month) when I remember, but otherwise once a month or every other month during the warmer months.

She isn’t dead, she doesn’t look dead, but she isn’t growing. This is an issue I’ve had with some plants before, and they either end up growing or dying. This girly isn’t doing either.

I’ve had her under a grow light for at least a month now, and last week I bought. A humidifier which is maybe a metre away from her.

Any ideas whats happening? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

13ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 months ago
Hi! Sometimes plants can be perfectly fine and just decide they want to have a rest for a while. It’s worth double checking if there’s any problems but a plant doing nothing for a while isn’t a cause for concern unless there’s other problems like shrivelling leaves, yellowing etc.

The plant may be using its energy to work on its root system. If you like seeing what’s going on it could be worth getting some clear pots so you can see new roots and rhizomes being grown. Messing around too much with the root system can disrupt the plant but if you’re worried about your watering habits or want to visually see if the roots are doing well you could switch to a small clear pot.
@Peachyhoyas thΓ© clear pot sounds like a good idea! I have some clear yoghurt pots that I can add drainage to so I may switch her out into one of those. Thanks!
@PiousWaterfern oh I see you’re from the UK so hello! I’m a fiend for those collective gourmet yogurt pots, I don’t even like yoghurt I give them to my housemate to eat so I can hoard the pots πŸ˜‚
It says she is 13ft from light, that might be too far for her to grow. Although she if alive, I don’t think she has enough light to grow properly. Best of luck!
@GrowMyPretties I didn’t notice that! That’s a great point
@GrowMyPretties she’s under a grow light! My labelling of sunlight is inconsistant on the plant cards since sometimes I count hrs of direct light as grow light and sometimes I don’t. But the wall she’s again faces the window anyway, and she has a grow light
Huh, then I don’t know what is going on. Is the pot too big or small for the roots?
Stick the stem back in the pot and make sure the node is touching the soil. It should grow in a few weeks.
@LavenderFields it is! When I rooted her in water the node was underwater and had some small roots for a very long time, then I transplanted her to soil and she had a little bit of growth but that was kinda it. I will check out what the roots are doing though
