The top roots outside the substrate dry quicker and have no substrate to retain water for them. It's normal if you do not hydrate them especially by e.g. misting, that they dry out over time and at some point even shrivel and die π€·ββοΈ in your case they do look a bit worse for wear though, even the "healthy" ones. What are you watering with? And are you sure there is no additional mold issue and the roots inside the pot are fine? The p

I know you didnβt ask for help. Butβ¦β¦.. I feel like I need to share with you. If you donβt want help thatβs fine just ignore it. I promise you wonβt hurt my feelings.
If I was you I would remove it from its pot and check its roots. I really suspect they are rotting. If Iβm right, (I want to be wrong here π)then you will need to cut off all the brown mushy roots. And treat the roots that a left with a soak of 1 part peroxide + 3 parts water for 5 min. Then you can repot her.
My recommendation is an orchid pot. The ones with holes on the sides. Then if you can put her in 50% spagnum moss and 50% orchid bark. Water π¦ her when she is almost dry. These really need a specific soilless mix to do well. Since they are epiphytes (they grow on trees). They really donβt like to be in soil. I would also cut off any parts of her roots that are badly browned and shrivel if they donβt rehydrate in a water soak. This is because you donβt want your orchid to waste energy on those roots, you want it to focus on new healthy growth.
Again, Iβm sorry π’ if you read this far. I do know you probably donβt want to hear that.
