I use a succulent - houseplant soil mix in mine. 60% housplant / 40% cactus soil. My friend uses 100% cactus soil in hers and it does well. As long as its well draining, thats the main thing.

@ClubbyRutabaga Hi Abby! I have my ZZ’s in regular soil with perlite mixed in. They seem to like their soil kinda chunky so I just use 1/3 perlite and the rest regular organic soil and compost (if u have it) Good Luck!🪴🌺

Yes! Succulent soil has additives for good drainage, which ZZ plants appreciate.
