Begonia crispy leaves….
I received five begonias from Steve’s leaves about 3 to 4 weeks ago. Some of the plans had very damaged leaves. I trim some of them back and none of them seem to be bouncing back. They’re in my IKEA greenhouse cabinet which has 60% to 70% humidity and a grow light at the top. I’m not sure if they’re getting too much humidity too much light. I’m not sure what the problem is. Definitely not too much humidity, begonias love it steamy. How long do you leave them under the grow lights? How many hours at a time/total? Is that the only sunlight they get?
Hopefully they are just still getting acclimated to their new home and will bounce back soon. They are very forgiving, so whatever the issue, I’m sure it’s fixable. 😊

@LaneyLichen they sit under a full spectrum Barrina grow light for 12 hours a day. That’s all the light they get. The only other thing i can think of is the soil has not dried up yet. But that would make that droopy not crispy….. idk I’m hoping they will bounce back!

@AdeptRossavens so I have 2 thoughts… first, that may be too much light as the begonias I have had thrived in north windows? But the second thought is… I lost my Rex begonia to crunchy leaves and found out AFTER it died, begonias get crispy leaves with fungal infections. So you may wanna try looking at that.
@Prentyce that would be awesome. It’s weird bc all the ones that are not doing well i got from the same place. So if you know anyone that might know how to save them that would be great!
@Prentyce begonia Iron cross has been pretty easy I’ve i’ve noticed it does not like to dry it out lol 
@plntobsessed ok I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’ve i’ve gotten begonias from of Etsy Lowe’s and even Facebook marketplace and those are doing great. Every single one from Steve’s leaves is giving me problems. 🥹
@AdeptRossavens most plants have brown spots with yellow rings… that’s why I missed it on my begonia. I learned the symptoms was crunchy leaves and it didn’t matter that it was in a self watering pot. So I use Arber bio-fungicide because that’s what I have. It works for me
