Why does my plantnlook like this
0ft to light, direct
4â pot with drainage
Last watered 4 days ago
First I'll let you know she needs a little less water she leaves should be pointing up, never down. When the soil stays wet she loses the ability to absorb water and nutrients. It okay for her to dry out a bit.
Now the red on top. Originally these plant were a Philodendron Rojo Congo. So, they can revert back to that when they don't get enough light. Sometimes they just revert no matter what. It won't hurt her, but she could lose her stripes eventually. If she is reverting the red will increase. And her leaves will turn green and the new growth will be red.
Nobody really knows what caused a Birkin to get its stripes. Sometimes it's just a happy accident of two plants crossbreeding. Or they will have a genetic mutation.
I do see soil on one leaf piled up, maybe from a repot or something. I would just brush that off. I always use a soft paintbrush. But you could simply blow it away as well. You just don't want it on the leaf or around the crown. It will inhibit photosynthesis and if the soil gets wet can rot the leaf.
So more light if you can. If you can't simply embrace the change. Most of the time I just roll with it and let my plants do what they want without interference.

Thanks for the info!
It's possible that water may have gotten into that area, ill work on just getting the roots!
Good to know about watering, I was wondering if that was the cause. I'll see if I can get her more light, and yeah, I had reported her, so ill get that cleaned up
Thank you both for the help!
