Diffenbachia Camille (Dumb Cane) #PlantAddict
Hey so I downloaded this app because I have a question, I’m new to plant caring and this brown thing it on my dumb cane stem, what is it? Is it bad? What do I do? #NewPlantMom
Nothing looks too out of the ordinary to me! Is the brown new?
@RJG yes
It looks like it's right at the base? So on the oldest leaf?
I agree with @RJG , it doesn’t look like anything to worry about. Your leaves look healthy, and I see some new growth, so everything looks ship-shape to me! Keep doing what you’re doing! πŸͺ΄πŸ’š
@Niellok I agree with @RJG you do have healthy leaves. New growth as well. So keep up what your doing. Happy growing. πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ€πŸ€
It looks totally normal. Sometimes they can look a little ugly, BUT don't worry- if the plant is getting the care it needs, it might even start to grow a new branch once it's super happy! οΏΌοΏΌ

In the last picture, there is a node under the paper of the old leaf. I recommend that you do not pick at it like I have done in the past. πŸ˜‰οΏΌ The paper keeps the humidity in and allows for the best growing environment.
Oh! And every time a dieffenbachia loses a bottom leaf and grows a top leaf, the plant gets TALLER! 😁

So losing a bottom leaf every once in a while is okay.
Your plant looks healthy and has beautiful new growth. πŸͺ΄
@sarahsalith Thank you πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
