Recent repot, still dying

#Aglaonema noticed some root rot from it being compressed in it’s original pot, so I repotted it a couple weeks ago and it’s been declining still :( need help!
5” pot
Last watered 2 weeks ago
The roots maybe having a hard time absorbing the amount of water in the soil. Are there drainage holes in your pot?

You might consider just removing it completely out of the soil if the roots are heavily damaged and saving it by putting it in water. Hopefully it will recover!
Did you treat the root rot thoroughly? Root rot is caused by a bacteria from the soil. When the soil is wet it lacks oxygen, that lack of oxygen causes bacteria to grow and multiply. It then start to feed on your plants roots. So, if she was just repotted or cleaned up but not treated. Or even used the same pot that was not treated. It keeps on growing, multiplying and feeding. I'll share my treatment below.

1. Remove from your pot, to check the roots. If there is anything brown black or mushy you have rot and will need to cut it all off. Keep only the healthy roots they will be whitish in color

Now root rot comes from a bacteria that forms in your soil and then attacks your plant. So treatment is absolutely necessary.

2. Cut off all affected roots soak what is left in:

1 part peroxide + 3 parts water and leave in the peroxide mix to soak for 5 minutes this will kill off the remaining bacteria. It will bubble pot and fizz this is good it’s killing the bacteria.

3. Next is soil, the best
choice is to throw it away. It’s safest. Or bake it for 1 hour in a 200
Degree oven, not the greatest because it REALLY stinks. But it’s effective. Or the most risky way is to thoroughly flush your soil out with your peroxide mix twice! You need to be very careful and do it thoroughly because if even a teeny bit of bacteria is left your rot will come back.

4. Now the pot, it also has that pesky bacteria you must scrub it out with soapy water very well and then also scrub it down with the peroxide mix.

Now you can plant her again. Be sure to add some perlite to your soil for aeration. This will help oxygen reach those roots and I avoid bacteria growth in the future.
Ok well first of all, root rot and root bound r totally different. What u describe is root bound and if thats y u repotted then thats good and simply allow her to destress from thwt experience. If u r speaking of root rot, the solution is totally different, thats caused by over wqtering & the roots actually rot, turn brown, need trimmed and ur entire plant, soil (unless u have fresh) & pot need sterilized wba ratio of 3:1 water & H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). Please affirm to me which term u meqbt to use as if its not root rot; but root bound, i dont want to bore u w the process. If, however it IS root rot, then we need to go over the treatment of that so please text back and let me know which u meant !!!🫢πŸͺ΄πŸŒΏ
@SuperbRaspfern shanmon she statedbthat she repotted it cause plant was too snug so she may be confusing root rot & root bound. Im teying to figure out which so i didnt get all into tge H2O2 yet. The way she described it, i really think she mewbt root bound
@BuffCaperspurge πŸ§πŸ€” You know, I think you're right!! Great catch my friend ❀️
@SuperbRaspfern oh gosh it 100% is root rot and I didn’t know anything about the process of getting rid of it!!! All I did was cut the roots!! I’ll be doing this asap, thanks so much!!!
@ew_dani Great, but also I'm sorry 😒. You got this and know you know how to get rid of it for good ❀️.
@SuperbRaspfern pretend im curtseying lol
@BuffCaperspurge πŸ˜‚ you had me thinking, you know I do make mistakes now and then. I was going to accept it with grace. ❀️
