Help help she seems sick!!!

#Canna
8” pot
Last watered 3 months ago
Has it been really rainy there and does water tend to pool up in that area?

She looks like she's been taking on too much water and has root rot .
I can give a treatment for her if you want. But that will entail digging her up.
Not really it rained a week ago, but I didn't water after that, so she would get too much. She's got pretty go drainage.
I dont mind digging her up if it'll be better for her. She was my mothers day present last year from my youngest πŸ₯°
Awe, 🩷. Yes then dig her up and check the roots I will include the treatment below. I know when my children gift me a plant they are extra special. Just tag me at @SuperbRaspfern if you have any questions then I will see it in my mailbox. 🩷

1. Remove from your soil, to check the roots. If there is anything brown black or mushy you have rot and will need to cut it all off. Keep only the healthy roots they will be whitish in color. Since your canna lily is a more mature size the roots can have a purple tinge to them..

Now root rot comes from a bacteria that forms in your soil and then attacks your plant. So treatment is absolutely necessary.

2. Cut off all affected roots soak what is left in:

1 part peroxide + 3 parts water and leave in the peroxide mix to soak for 5 minutes this will kill off the remaining bacteria. It will bubble pot and fizz this is good it’s killing the bacteria.

3. Next is soil, you will want fresh soil around her.

Now you can plant her again. Be sure to add some perlite to your soil for aeration. This will help oxygen reach those roots. Bark is great for outdoors.
@SuperbRaspferns thank you she's definitely a special one. He's heading for basic training πŸͺ– next week. I'm going to miss him like crazy. Right now she in the yard should I put her in a pot instead. I can move her inside. I'm in Texas so the sun is brutal.
She looks good in there!

And basic training, that's amazing! You have to be an incredibly proud Mama.

Since she's been outside you can keep her there just keep her in the shade if possible. She's been through a lot and may have a bit of shock.

If you do move her indoors just be sure to transition her slowly.

Day 1&2 2 hours indoors
Day 3&4 4 hours indoors
Etc.
@Superbraspfern Thank you, I am super proud ☺️ cant believe how fast time goes!

I just saw your message though about keeping her out of the sun πŸ˜” I kept her outside but right in the sun...she looks burnt I moved her to the shade yesterday. I'll send you a picture tomorrow I'm out of town this weekend.
@mudgirl97 Sounds good, have a good weekend 🩷. Sorry she got a bit burnt on you 😒
