How to heal my String of Dolphins?

My plant seems to be poorly and I’m not sure why! He’s just been put under a grow light as I don’t think he was getting enough before, but I’m not sure if he’s saveable? What’s best to do to fix him?
There are new leaves growing but obviously there’s a lot of brown :( #StringOfDolphins
3” pot with drainage

Oh no, see the yellow at the bottom of the stems? That looks like root rot if they are mushy (give them a squeeze). These need very little water πŸ’¦. And your pot looks to big and your soil waaay too heavy. You need a very chunky soil. I personally would do what @BrawnyRedrose said and start again you can do it in water or plant in soil but make sure it’s very chonky. If you do the soil route take clippings of the tops of the stems leave about 3-4 inches of stem if you can allow those to dry and scab over for 3 days or so and the you can plant them, but don’t use that soil again unless you treat it and add lots of perlite to make it chonky.

Since root rot is generally caused by bacteria you need to treat the pot and soil before reusing. Otherwise it will come right back.

You can do that by soaking it in 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 3 parts water. Just scrub that pot thoroughly and let the soil get thoroughly flushed out. But, it would always be best to start with fresh soil if you can! πŸ˜‰
Hi there April, I’m not sure if you can save it. But I would try to start over with the few green . I have had some luck with water propagation and a little less with soil #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy but good luck to you πŸ˜œπŸ˜…πŸ€žπŸ€žstrings you have left.
I killed mine too when I repotted it. I definitely overwatered it not realizing that all the little dolphins store water. I took a few green stems and plopped them in water, being careful not to let any of the dolphins go under the water. I lost a couple of stems but one is rooting like crazy and I should probably pot her up. It looks like you have a couple of stems you could try. Good luck!
@Grandmaplants woah! Tell me your secret?! How long is that for and anything added?
It didn’t take very long! Maybe a few days to start rooting and it’s probably been a month since I started. I think I put a teeny bit of fertilizer in the water along with some rooting hormone. I just top off the water when it gets a little low. Once it got a lot algae and I had to change out the water completely and I think that’s when I added the fertilizer and rooting hormone. It’s definitely been an experiment and I wish I had kept notes!!
i always kill these πŸ’”
