Hoya Potsii- /or Verticillata- Chiang Mai

Hi #HoyaHeads this lil guy isn’t in the archives here yet- before submitting it I wanted to get consensus which name is the correct designation. Please #HelpIdentify this precious #Hoya with huge succulent leaves 💚

Some hoyas are really hard to ID until they flower and even then can be tricky. I have one that I bought as a cutting on ebay that I just labelled as a general hoya since it has no ID. Looks a bit like yours with the big leaves. Also a bunch of hoyas can be called different things but they’re essentially just the same plant.

These are some of the leaves on my potsii if that helps. Most of my leaves seem to be smaller than yours but my plant is very young. I did think the plant I ordered would have bigger leaves than it does… if that helps too.

That’s what I figured too- based on the foliage it seems to be the Chiang Mai cultivar but I find disputing discussions whether Potsii or Verticillata- Chiang Mai. I love it all the same! Big beautiful leaves sprouting out new growth! I’m excited to watch it grow - but my brain can’t rest when I hit taxonomy wall 🫠 it will be LONG before seeing any bloom so until then I’ll just be wondering. 💭
