Droopy and leafs turned
Hi I got this starter plant a little under a week ago, it arrived like this, was super perky I feel like and I wasnβt able to put in on a shelf right away or anything due to some electrical issues and now itβs looking like this. Can someone please let me know if Iβm doing something wrong :/ #planthelp #Anthurium
It still looks perfectly healthy to me. In fact, I'd be willing to bet the only reason the leaves were upturned like that was from being in a box during shipment. Your second photo is closer to what they normally look like. When you say you couldn't get it on the shelf right away, do you mean under a grow light? If so, your anthurium will be fine. They prefer more dappled, indirect light anyway. One other thing, I'd consider removing those rocks from the top of the soil. Anthurium roots are more delicate, so I'd be concerned the bigger stones might damage them. They do prefer chunky soil, but instead of rocks choose something like coco coir chunks or orchid bark.
@stephonicle thank you so much I had no idea about the bigger stones potentially hurting their roots ! Iβm keeping it on a shelf that gets indirect light from other grow lights is that okay ?
@ProCowpea44 sorry just saw your comment! I'm not on the app as much these days lol. Yes, that should be fine. As long as it doesn't get any direct light, so just make sure it's far enough away from the grow lights so it doesn't burn π
