Can I revive?
I bought this seedling from a seller online and it seems like it was doing well and when I added it in a nursery pot, it completely wilted. I’m not sure if I can revive it. It’s wet because I just watered it because it’s been saturated. And I just moved it into the windowsill because that’s the only place inside my house where my cat won’t get to it. So I am aware that maybe this isn’t the best lighting.

It is having transplant shock and is over saturated which is a bad combo but you can definitely still save it. It will take several days to start recovering from transplant shock and several weeks to a couple of months before it will be ready to go back into soil but it can grow perfectly healthy in water alone. If you have any questions please feel free to reply to me and I’ll be happy to help. Hope this is helpful to you 💚 and good luck!
Hi! Get it out of the soil asap! See if the stems are still intact. If so, clean the dirt off by running water over it and put in a small jar of water in indirect light (that window looks fine!) This will help it grow new roots and leaves without the stress it currently is having. But you have to act quickly because if the stems rot then it’s game over unless you have a section with a leaf and a node.
@BabeVila thank you! It looks like roots are fine but satirated like your said. I pulled it out and now I’ll add it in some water to see
@PrimoGhostplant okay just put it in some room temperature water so it doesn’t get any more stressed and let it chill for some time. It may drop leaves that’s normal! Try to rinse the dirt off as much as you can, if it drops leaves they will grow back. Most important is to keep the water clean and room temp so change it weekly and it will slowly recover! Lmk if anything else! 💚
@PrimoGhostplant is the stem mushy? You will almost certainly lose those leaves from what I am seeing, but hopefully it will recover! It looks pretty bad to be honest, but As long as the stem isn’t mushy there is a possibility of recovery. If you have some hydrogen peroxide, it will help to put a little in the water, it will kill bacteria and oxygenate the water. Just keep the leaves above the water or they will rot. Try to keep only the roots submerged. I hope I am making sense!
@PrimoGhostplant great! And actually from this second picture the leaves look better than I thought! I would just let them be for several days, if some leaves drop it’s okay. Keep it in a nice spot like that window and it will slowly recover. The hardest part will be leaving it alone because it’s hard to not do anything but that will be the best thing! Hopefully it will start to perk up. If you have any questions in the meantime or need any help just let me know! 😊 I do think it will recover but it might be a slow process. But worth it!
@BabeVila thank you so much! I know it’s supposed to be stunning, and the other one I got has been doing so well. I’m not sure what happened to this one though. I appreciate all your advice!
@PrimoGhostplant yes it’s a real beauty! On my wishlist lol. I’m so happy to help and please don’t hesitate to @ me if anything comes up! I hope she has a wonderful recovery 💚
@PrimoGhostplant oh just want to add that even if all the leaves drop, if the stem is good and has nodes, and the roots are good, you can still save it. Let me know if that happens and I’ll tell you what to do … but hopefully you won’t need it!
@BabeVila thank you! I so appreciate your help and advice. Im hoping this process isn’t too lengthy and she can bounce back. 🫠🫠
