10ft to light, indirect

8β pot with drainage

Last watered 2 weeks ago
I wonder if the tears could be mechanical damage when leaves were unfurling because it doesnβt look like pest damage. Also wondering for the tears on the edges if it could relate to the humidity level (maybe too low?) in the area when the leaves were coming out. Did you notice the leaves bending a lot or having a hard time coming out at first?
@Gabiblocatelli How much light is the plant getting? Brown spots with a yellow halo on Persian cyclamen leaves are often a sign of fungal diseases, overwatering, or environmental stress, such as too much direct sunlight.
@Ms.Persnickety hello. They are around 3 to 4 meters from both windows I have in the room. Overwatering I donβt think is the problem because Iβm busy and neglecting my plants a bit. Any tips about the fungal issue?
@Gabiblocatelli Brown spots with yellow halos on a Persian cyclamen leaf could be caused by fungal diseases like Alternaria leaf spot, Septoria leaf spot, or Gloeosporium leaf spot. Here's a more detailed explanation:
Alternaria leaf spot:
This fungal disease, caused by the Alternaria genus, can cause small, water-soaked lesions that turn brown with a yellow halo, especially on older leaves.
Septoria leaf spot:
Septoria cyclaminis can cause yellowish-brown to reddish blotches with small raised dots or pustules in the center, which are the fruiting bodies of the fungus.
Gloeosporium leaf spot:
Gloeosporium cyclaminis can cause distinctly zonate, pale green and circular spots with orange to pink-colored spores on stems and leaves
Other fungal diseases:
Cyclamen can also be affected by other fungal diseases like Botrytis blight (grey mold), which can cause tan leaf spots, water-soaked flower petals, and gray fungus.
Symptoms to look for:
Circular or irregular brown spots, Yellow halos around the spots, Sunken or raised lesions, Leaf chlorosis (yellowing) and drop, and Fuzzy grey or brown fungal growth.
Prevention and Treatment:
Good air circulation: Ensure adequate airflow around the plant to prevent fungal growth.
Proper watering: Avoid overwatering, which can create a humid environment that favors fungal diseases.
Remove infected leaves: Prune and remove affected leaves to prevent the spread of the disease.
Use fungicides: Apply a fungicide as directed to treat fungal infections.
Isolate infected plants: Isolate infected plants to prevent the spread of the disease to other plants.

@Ms.Persnickety thanks! Wich fungicide I have to look for?
@Gabiblocatelli That is a very difficult question to answer, since I donβt know which fungus is affecting your plant. I have found two websites you should look at: https://www.cyclamen.com/en/professional/diseases/8/20. The other one is: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/cyclamen/common-cyclamen-diseases.htm. I hope one of these will help you solve the problem!
@Ms.Persnickety thank you again!
