Tiny Flies!

#SplitLeafPhilodendron We only had one plant and we didn’t really know how to care for it. It had little flies and ended up dying. Not too long after we got two new plans and one has the same little flies! There’s little larva looking things in the soil too! What do I do!
3ft to light, direct
13” pot without drainage

Start watering from the bottom the bugs like the wet soil also you could get the sticky paper You can order it from Amazon I take a skewer and go over the soil to see what’s moving then use this stuff for the bugs monitor and repeat HapPy Plant’nπŸͺ΄
@ZarfJade Thank you! Should I also replant it in a pot with drainage? Our other plant came with one of those and it seems like that would be important.
You can also mix 3% hydrogen peroxide with 4 parts water and water with this mixture to kill larva. Keep away from other plants to prevent spread.
You’ll likely have to do this multiple times until the living flies die out/can no longer lay eggs. Do some research online too to see what you feel is best for you.
@SuaveBlackpine yes that’s important because you can judge the over flow also to help you check moisture you could put a wooden skewer in the soil after watering and check he skwer for moisture always turn it on nbyhe dry side to check as in winter your soil stays mostly moist 😊πŸͺ΄πŸ’•
