Gotta air layer for best result. You CAN also snip and root in water, but it'll take more time. Grab some sphagnum or coir, string, a small piece of a wooden chopstick or barbecue stick and plastic cling wrap. Tie one end of the cling wrap to the base with string, so that the wrap will wrap around the trunk. Make sure the wrap is big enough. Carefully slice the stem [not fully, at an angle], and wedge a small, prob around 5cm [2in.] bbq/chopstick into the cut to prevent the wound from callusing over and healing. Grab a handful of moist [not wet] sphagnum or coir, and wrap around in a ball shape. Carefully, grab the cling wrap, and finish the wrapping, so that the cling wrap holds the 'soil/moss ball' tightly. Tie off the top to seal, and if necessary tape off the part where the two sides overlap. Wait a couple weeks to a few months. You'll notice roots coming through. Once you see a nice healthy system of roots, remove the ball, finish the cut you made earlier and pot up. It helps to add cinnamon powder or other rooting hormones to the cut before wrapping, or mixing with the sphagnum/coir used, to encourage faster and stronger root development.
