Drying out even though I water every week and a half. What should I do?
Jersey City, New Jersey
This is part of a bromeliad’s natural life cycle, they die after the flower! But don’t worry, they produce pups. I’m just leaving mine with the mother plant as it dies, but you can take them off when they’re 1/3 the size of the mother plant and root them in water (I think). Continue watering in the center water resivour, and ignore all the crunch leaves that will develop. If it looks too bad you can trim off the crispy tips. Mine has taken over a year to die, but she has 3 strong pups!!
I agree with
! Also, if you aren’t already, try watering into the cups instead of the soil and see if that helps!
