What pH will Pink Blush aloe tolerate?
Online I see either “it is not particular to soil pH but prefers sandy soil” or “6.0-7.0” or something like that.
What does “not particular” mean though? I assume that’s the more accurate answer and the slightly acidic answers are more general, most plants from what I understand like slight acidity so that sounds like someone just used the rule of thumb. But the other result doesn’t actually tell me what pH is okay! I fear I added way too much garden lime and want to know how much to adjust it back with sulfur. I have a soil pH meter and some sulfur arriving tomorrow but I don’t even really know what numbers I would want it to read. 7.5? 6.5? I’d prefer to maximize growth and pink/red coloration as much as possible and want hard numbers for optimal growth if anyone has them

I assume that’s the “it is not particular to soil pH but prefers sandy soil” is referring to the fact that pink blush aloe is adapted to soil which has little to no organic material in it, for example a potting material with mostly sand. As such, I would suggest a pH anywhere from 5.5 to 7 would be acceptable with a pH of 6 being ideal, as that is the general specifications for most aloe plants.
Succulents are pretty tolerant, so honestly I wouldn’t stress too much about specifics.
As for the red coloration you are after, that would come about with more sun, rather than any specific soil pH. :)

@plantt you have any idea how high of a pH it can tolerate? Trying to figure out what a dangerous reading on the pH meter would be. 9? 9.5? 10? Higher??
@AdeptBluebroom all aloe are adaptive to both slightly acidic and slightly alkaline soils. So, the most unsafe pH levels would be either highly acidic or highly alkaline so either a reading of 0-4 or of 9-14 would be the least ideal for your pink blush aloe, with the extremes of either being the most fatal.
@plantt thanks for the danger zones! I thought 9 might be too high.
