Did they unfurl like that? Maybe it's because the are new and they haven't darkened.

The flip side is: If you just got the plant, it may be acclimating to your care and it may be trying to find its happy place... in the process, it might lose the lower leaves.

Here in zone 7b, you see caladium growing outside really well. They are beautiful plants!
