Very very carefully!  Do you have any thick leather gloves? How tight is he in the pot?

I’ve been there. Just put on some thick gloves and grip it with your fingers not your hand. Should be all good!

I would wrap him in newspaper and use gloves and even then be super careful.

You can use an old tshirt or piece of carpet or styrofoam. Even two rolls of toilet paper to hold it. I like wrapping old jeans or a shirt around the cactus to hold it like it has a cloth handle to hang onto
