savage fairy garden
Hi all, I am pretty new to gardening, in general, and *very* new to carnivorous plants. Iβve managed to keep a Venus fly trap alive for a few months (after the plant store put her in regular olβ fertilized soil, so sheβs been a bit traumatized). Iβd like to create a sort of savage fairy garden with my carnivorous bog bowl, but Iβm nervous to add anything because of how sensitive they are to everything. Iβm open to any ideas to jazz this bog bowl up. Iβm hoping the VFT gets redder since itβs getting good sun now and would love to add a bladderwort to this bowl, but otherwise, I have no ideas for bringing in color. Maybe some moss? #savagegarden #CarnivorousPlants #CarnivorousClub #carnivorousplantnerds

Hi Elizabeth! I love this idea!
Personally, I'm obsessed with pingculeas so if you want to add color with plants I vote adding one.
If you want to keep with the "fairy garden" motif usually people use natural elements they find near by, which doesn't always translate to color.
I know there are some fairy stories where you make wish at their house with glitter, so you could incorporate that if you're open to non-organics. A lot of people also buy large bags of mini figurines (ducks, frogs, aliens, etc) to put in their plants, personally I like the glow in the dark ones. I also have a lot of friends that put crystals and other types of colorful minerals in their plant pots.
Hope these ideas keep the creative juices flowing!
