Help! Excessive needle drop. I realized a week and a half...

8β pot with drainage

Last watered 1 week ago
Well, first let me start by saying this is NOT a Norfolk Island Pine . I posted a pic of what they look like yours is a pine tree.
So there will be differences in their care. Yours will need well draining soil. And should dry out almost completely before watering. Since she is in soggy soil right now I would repot her in a well draining soil. Something that will not stay wet. While she is out of her pot, check her roots for rot. She may have it since she is dropping a lot of her needles. Rot wonβt show the same way on her since the needles are different than leaves.
If she has rot cut off all of the brown, black or mushy root.
Then treat whatβs left of the roots with 1 part peroxide + 3 part water. Throw away the old soil if possible and use fresh.
You can in a pinch treat the affected soil with the peroxide mix but itβs risky because if you miss any of the bacteria that causes rot it can came back.
Before you use that pot again sterilize it by scrubbing with soapy water and the scrubbing with your peroxide mix.
Good luck, I hope this helps! β€οΈ
