3 new planty beauties from the #GregPlantShop! How do I c...

I haven't received them yet since this night I placed my first ever Greg Plant Shop order! I ordered 3 plants, a #VFT #VenusFlytrap), #monsteraadansonii, and #dracaenazeylanica #snakeplant). I wanna learn in advance how to care for them before they arrive. Plus, I am curious about approximately when they will arrive.

Does anyone have any tips for these? I have had a Monstera Deliciosa before, but I believe it may be different in care from Monstera Adansonii. Also, these will be my first snake plant as well as #carnivorousplant! I have had Dracaena before, but only Dracaena Marginata (which seems vastly different from the snake plant). Also, I bought the Venus Flytrap despite my fear of letting it down somehow.

Any help or ideas are highly appreciated! I will update this post once these wonderful plants arrive.

Wooo! Congrats on the soon to be new plants :)
I don't have any advice for the non-carnivorous plants (terrible with those, lol) -- but for the vft:
The biggest thing to remember is distilled water (or rainwater) and adequate light. They need loads of light, full sun. Bright, direct light. One of the things I see people lacking most when caring for these plants is enough light. A big sign that it's not getting enough light is that it'll be bright green, and the petioles will be floppy.
Also, make sure that it never ever dries out as they do grow in bogs in nature and will *not* appreciate drying out. I will say that I have accidentally had one dry out before, and it did bounce back. So there's a bit of room for error but avoid it if you can.
Don't forget that along with special water requirements, they don't tolerate fertilizers at all. Mine are in a 2:1 mix of peat moss & perlite, but people also use long fibered sphagnum moss too. They also have a winter dormancy period.

Tldr:
â€ĒBright, direct sun
â€ĒDistilled water or rainwater, don't ever let dry out. Sit in a saucer
â€ĒNo fertilizers what so ever
â€Ēwinter dormancy

I'm super excited to see them once they arrive!
If you have any questions feel free to ask ! :)
Hopefully you are in a warm region and shipping doesnt go through the cold! Greg doesnt offer ,insulate or add heat packs. I actually still have my 50$ gift card from@greg. Waiting till spring to order anything myself . Anyway great choice of plants and hopefully they arrive warm !👍
Guess the greg plant app doesnt realize tropicals cant be frozen lol
@TheConservator It often drops below 50°F in my area at this time of year (but only during the morning and night), so I'm a bit concerned! Hopefully, there is at least something I can propagate.
Don't use tap water on the Venus flytrap. And don't let the soil dry out. California Carnivores is a great resource. Snake plants are easy easy easy, I have had mine since like.. 2008? It survived all thru high school and college and three different cats. I think the main thing with that one is it's better to underwater than overwater.
My snake plant is pretty easy! I follow the Watering directions on the app usually 6 ounces every 2 weeks or so. Ive had mine up to 3ish feet from the window and it did well. Just make sure to rotate it so the different sides get sunlight
@Merranda Thank you! One thing.. will reverse osmosis water work? I don't think I have distilled, and although it rains a lot this time of year, I'm worried about summer because it is dry. But I know I can buy reverse osmosis water from Walmart.
@AmberMallow I don't have tap, lol (we have well water, but of course, I don't use it on my plants since it contains bleach.) I use spring water for most of my plants, but I sometimes use RO water to either lower soil ph or simply for water without much nutrition. I'm gonna use RO water for the VFT, most likely.
@PoshPotatovine got it! Thank you.
@Catplantaddict yes! RO water works perfectly too :)
