Help needed with gifted plants please π±β¨οΈπ
A recent online order gifted me a rooted cutting of a Philodendron Micans Variegated and a baby Anthurium Forgetii x Besseae aff π€© Super grateful but unsure about care. Both are in water with phytoplankton to recover from travel stress for now.
π± Philodendron Micans Variegated: I've been eyeing up the full plant version but knew I couldn't afford it due to the price - quite thrilled to be gifted a rooted cutting! I think it might need to grow its roots a bit more before potting into soil, they're maybe 0.5". Any thoughts on this?
πΏ Anthurium Forgetii x Besseae aff: I have no experience with anthuriums so any tips would be greatly appreciated. This one has some actual roots! The longest one is about 2".
I'm not sure if the smallest pots I have are the right size. The plastic one is 3" and the terracotta one is 2.5" - both have drainage. I also have a 1.5" terracotta pot but that seems way too small.
TIA #gregfam, #plantamigos, #greggang and many more #plantfriends ! πͺ΄π

I would definitely let the Micans grow some longer roots, at least an inch or two before transferring. Anthurium generally like higher humidity but can be acclimated to normal ambience too. Their care is similar to philodendrons I've found. You can let them dry out a bit, but bone dry isn't good, so the terracotta pots might dry out too quickly. If you have a nice, super chunky soil mix, 3 inch pots should be just fine for them to be transferred intoπ 2.5 would be fine too. Good luck!
@SacredToaster thanks, Kassie! π€π½ hope I can grow these babies to be bigger & healthy!
