My English ivy comes in and hangs in the window... So that the light remains similar... And the window is farther from heat vents so it still gets to be slightly cooler. I would say to try and mimic what you know it likes to the best of your ability and make it a slower transition. I hope it stays alive for you all winter!
Could you place it as close to your house as possible and cover it at night? Or maybe you could bring it inside but keep it in a cool room in a similar location?
I believe English ivy can tolerate some cool temperatures.
