tips on using herbicides and insecticides on English ivy?...
hi! im a beginning and Iβm growing 4 English ivy plants for my stem fair project. my project is on controlling invasive species, so i plan to use herbicides on one plant, insecticides on another, manual extraction (pruning) on the third, and my fourth plant is my control group! This is my first day with these plants, should I use any fertilizer and if so should o use it before or after the chemical controllers? could I also get any additional tips ? thanks so much in advance!
Wow what a fun project!!!! Iβm so curious to find out what your results are. If youβve planted these in fresh potting soil it will have plenty of nutrients. No need for additional fertilizer for months! Remember light is food for plants (photosynthesis). Fertilizer is more like a vitamin supplement π. And English ivy loves bright light so give it all day light. It looks like itβs in a bright window. Is it eastern exposure?
@BraveMiro I just saw the profile and it is in NE window. If itβs more eastern than northern then it should be fine. More northern light might not be enough and you should consider a grow light. There are grow light bulbs that are inexpensive you can use in any lamp. Just place it so the plant isnβt so close to burn the leaves.
@MariansOasis Sorry that Position was for the previous spot it was in but my plant is actually in a southeastern position now!
@MariansOasis tysm for the help!

Where you live, English Ivy is an obnoxious weed.
Where I live, it's adored.
I love all of my plants but Ivy is one of the top favorites. She's under grow lights, pampered, and loved...
