Can I save him??

Recently I purchased a new plant at my local Home Depot. Literally it was love at first sight lol. So it’s been a couple of weeks now (like 2-3) and I decide I want to re-pot said plant because I noticed the texture of the dirt was SUPER hard. So as I’m repotting it I’m trying to gently remove the dirt from the base of the plant. Come to find out the plant literally has no roots attached to it and there’s a bunch of mushy soft stuff at the bottom. I did some heavy pruning of the bottom leaves but I don’t know if I can save it. My sister told me to keep pictures just in case it does not live so that I can get a new one. Please give me some ideas on how to save it? I should’ve known something was wrong because when I first purchased it it looked beautiful but it was lopsided and the bottom leaves look flat.οΏΌ (I included a picture of it after I repotted it below!!)οΏΌ #succulent #succulents #plants #succulentlove #plant #succulentgarden #LaceAloe #succulentaddict #succulove

Beautiful plant!
I just tried banana water on all my plants and let me tell you they are psyched! I also have home depo aloe plants, mine were struggling because they needed new soil and larger pots. Which I actually just reported 11 plants earlier this evening. So with the banana water idea. I was told, if your plant is dying, make sure it’s dried out. I would go at least a week though, but depending on the moisture level in your home. In the meantime save your banana peels, put one or two, I did two, in a mason jar and let it sit for a few days. I liked what I got out of two days. Then water your plants with it. Depending on your plants, I believe your only supposed to do it once in awhile. The potassium and nutrients really peak them up, I even have plants producing flowers I’ve never seen before, it’s pretty cool.
I hope you can save your guy! Good Luck!!πŸ™‚
That aloe is probably a pretty resilient plant and should most likely be able to grow roots again. Let it dry and only water when needed and put it in a good cactus or succulent mix. Even just the leaves alone should be able to grow roots.
Air dry for a week or so watching the root that’s left, if it dries up and is still solid I’d plant it in a well draining cactus soil, get a bag from Home Depot and a bag of perlite and make it at a 1/1 ratio. If it continues to rot cut back the stem with sterilized cutters till you see green root, don’t go too crazy but you want healthy root not allowing it to spread. Plant that sucker and make sure your soil is somewhat moist and not drenched, put in shady spot with no direct sun and it will grow roots in no time, if you have root hormone use it after it fully dries, prior to planting in soil.
I was somehow able to save this sticks of fire plant after 6 months of no signs of growth and now it’s finally growing. So if you try you can probably save yours since those are also usually survivor type plants
