Ficus are very resilient so don't fret too much yet!
They do like a lot of light, especially a Shivereana like you have. Dark green leaves make the most energy for a plant, the lighter and more variegation the harder it is for the plant to make energy. They also need light to make that energy. So likely with the low light conditions it doesn't have enough energy to grow new leaves and hold on to its old ones.
I'd recommend a grow light or moving it to a window.
